question...
And let me start by stating "NO I AM NOT PREGNANT"...
But, I was thinking about this issue anyway so I thought I would throw it out there to see what you guys think.
Assuming a young couple did just have a child. Along comes Mother's Day.
Does the young mother get to spend the day sans her mother-in-law / mother or is she obligated to share the day with them as well?
Afterall, there is a Grandparents' Day at some other point in the year...
But, is it just rude to want to spend, at least, her first Mother's Day with her immediate 'new' family only - i.e. her husband and child?

Hmm.. I don't think it's rude. Perhaps because I don't find "Mother's day" that big of a holiday anyways - but you think just a phone-call with happy wishes to the mother/mother-in-law would suffice.
And surely they would understand the importance of the new situation..
when is grandparent's day?
Apparently it might only be a US holiday - but the first Sunday after Labout Day...
